نعمة الله على داؤد

Allah’s favors on Dawood peace be upon him

VOCABULARY

craft	صنعة	It responds,	تتجاوبُ
softened	ألاَنَ	shields	دروع
We softened	ألَنا	Echo!	أوبِى
Measure!	قَدِر	long coats of mail	سبِغتٍ
garments	لَبُوس	links	سَرد
		To protect you	لِتُحصِنَكُم

ENGLISH TRANSLATION

As far as Dawood (peace be upon him) is concerned, Allah submitted to him the mountains and the birds to respond to him in making supplication and praising Allah, And He taught him the craft of making shields and made the iron supple for him.

And assuredly We gave David grace from Us, (saying): O ye hills and birds, echo his psalms of praise! And We made the iron supple unto him,     

Saying: Make thou long coats of mail and measure the links (thereof). And do ye right. Lo! I am Seer of what ye do.

Saba 10-11

And We taught him the art of making garments (of mail) to protect you in your daring. Are ye then thankful?
